The Netflix series "Queenmaker" ruled the streaming site's non-English TV chart on the first week of its release.
The official Netflix Top 10 website on April 20 said the drama had 15.87 million viewing hours on the second week of this month (April 10-16), topping the category.
No. 2 was the French thriller series "Thicker Than Water" with 14.78 million viewing hours, followed by the Korean series "The Glory" in third with 12.9 million and "Divorce Attorney Shin" fourth with 10.39 million.
"Queenmaker" is a political drama featuring the struggles and bond between human rights lawyer Oh Seung-sook (Moon So-ri) and powerful fixer Hwang Do-hee (Kim Hee-ae), a master of image creation who seeks to get Oh elected Seoul mayor. The 11-part series premiered on April 14.
Written by Moon Ji-young and produced by Oh Jin-Seok, the program stars Ryu Soo-young, Seo Yi-sook, Lee Geung-young, Jin Kyung, Kim Tae-hoon, Kim Ho-jung, Ok Ja-yeon, Kim Sae-byuk and Yoon Ji-hye.
