Team Korea has won its first gold medal and added two silver at the Paris Summer Paralympics. 


Jeong Soyeong on Sept. 1 won the silver in the final of the women's individual boccia (BC2) at South Paris Arena 1. 

On the same day, the team of Jeong Jaegun and Yu Sooyoung also grabbed the silver in the men's badminton doubles (WH1 and WH2) at the Porte de la Chapelle Arena.

The national team's first gold came from shooting.

 

Jo Jeongdu on Aug. 30 won the men's 10-m standing air rifle (P1) by comfortably defeating India's Manish Narwal at the Chateauroux Shooting Centre in Chateauroux, a city 270 km south of Paris. Park Jinho the next day at the same venue won Korea's second gold of the Games in the men's 10-m standing air rifle (SH1).


Korea continued its medal streak with silver in the men's table tennis doubles and a women's bronze in the same event, plus a silver in the men's 80-kg taekwondo. 


As of Sept. 2 at 10 a.m. Korean Standard Time, the national team raised its medal count to 13: two gold, five silver and six bronze.
