Every weekend in summer, Warsaw, Poland, hosts the open-air Breakfast Market with a global array of delicious dishes. This is a vibrant way to spend a warm morning either solo or with friends and family.

From Aug. 24-25, the market had an event featuring Korean culture complete with K-pop and other things Korean. Winners of a quiz on Korea received vouchers to use at the market.

The entertainment featured a fantastic performance by Kyara, a Polish K-pop cover group with energetic choreography that got people of all ages to join in. Even parents danced with their kids.

The highlight of the weekend was undoubtedly the food. Attendees enjoyed a range of Korean dishes including sotteok (rice cake and sausage skewers) Korean-style corn dogs and fried chicken, and gimbap (seaweed rice rolls). A stall with Korean snacks, K-pop albums and merchandise had fans eagerly purchasing items from their favorite groups.

In addition, the workshops included one on makeup that drew beauty enthusiasts, while another on traditional Hangeul calligraphy explored the art of beautiful writing.

At the event was Lee Kyeung-min, director of the Europe office of the Korea Tourism Organization's Visit Korea campaign.

He said Visit Korea's primary focus was online promotion, targeting youth active on social media and digital platforms, adding that he hopes the campaign can collaborate more closely with Poland-based organizations like the Korean Culture Center in Warsaw to promote Korean culture in the country.

The event was a success in drawing large crowds eager to sample Korean cuisine, learn about the culture and spend a lively weekend outdoors.
